Thermal Printer & RJ11 Cash Till Configuration

Connect typical thermal receipt layouts, setup automatic receipt paper cutting, and configure automated cash drawer open triggers.

Last documentation update: May 30, 2026

Integration Walkthrough Steps

  1. 1Connect the thermal receipt printer to your laptop, PC, or POS terminal using USB, Ethernet LAN cable, or Bluetooth pairing.
  2. 2Configure printer device parameters under Windows, macOS, or Android System settings. Ensure the layout matches dimensions (standard: 80mm or 58mm).
  3. 3Open the Tilloza Application > Settings > Peripherals > printer Configuration.
  4. 4Set print driver protocol to Standard ESC/POS (confirm compatibility with your printer model).
  5. 5For automated Cash Till: Connect the RJ11 cable from the back of the physical cash till directly to the matching socket on your thermal printer. When a print starts, the printer issues a brief electric 24V impulse that triggers the till lock to spring forward.

Important Deployment Checklist Tips

  • ▪USB receipt printers require that you choose the specific Virtual Com Port (e.g. COM3) in Tilloza settings.
  • ▪LAN/Ethernet printers require assigning a static IP directly to the printer using its utility software to avoid connection loss on router restarts.
